The Shores at Waikoloa is a 10 minute walk to Anaeho’omalu Bay (A Bay), the white sandy beach at Waikoloa Beach Resort. The Hilton and Marriot hotels and the Waikoloa Kings’ and Queens’ Shops are only a short walk from The Shores, so easy walking distance if you forgot the milk or if you don't feel like cooking.     The pictures shown do not do the condo justice! The condo is absolutely spotless, well maintained and very spacious.A previous review stated that the floors were dirty, that is absolutely not correct, your feet might get dirty out on the lanai and that's the only place you'd get dirty!! The owner provided excellent customer service. Answered all the questions I had and answered very quickly. Would POSITIVELY stay again and again. The locations is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. It is about a 30 minute drive back in to the city of Kona, but a beautiful drive.

    I spent a week there with friends. It is a great location, excellent view and nice accommodations. We enjoyed the flexibility of having a condo versus a hotel for cooking, relaxing, etc.. We ate most of our meals there with the exception of a few lunches while we were on day trips.
    The only drawbacks were the early (10:00 check out) and the required washing of towels and stripping of beds. While I get it's not a hotel with daily room cleaning, we should get he place fully cleaned when we leave. One more thing is the floors when we arrived were not too clean, sand, etc. which I know is hard but it should get a thorough cleaning given the early check out (10:00am) and late check in (4:00pm) times. We also ran out of paper towels and Kleenex, both didn't have back up supplies available to us. The quality of the paper products was a bit low as well.
    Overall this is a big YES to stay here. They just need to adjust a few things that would make it fabulous!

    Everything about this condo was wonderful! Great location, clean, and stocked with essentials. Our favorite part was the huge porch, we spent every morning looking over the golf course to the ocean and every night looking at the breathtaking stars. Absolutely wonderful experience.

    Great location. Spacious lanai with a view. Everything is great. Queens Market is close by to stock up on food. I would've given a 5 star, but had to knock 1/2 off for a few things. Shower in the master looks cool but not practical with water spilling out. Tile floor throughout the unit appeared clean, but when we walked barefoot, bottom of our feet were black shortly, so probably hasn't been mopped in a while. None of this would stop me from renting again. Unit is well stocked with all necessities.

      All tile floors are mopped by our housekeeping staff at each cleaning. Question really is, how long after the floor is mopped does dust start to accumulate (the floor is where it mostly ends up, after all)? And, if you walk around in bare feet and expect them to stay clean, how frequently should you, yourself, mop up. Or even, wouldn't it be better to have a pair of flip-flops to wear around the condo rather than wander around in bare feet?

    Very nice unit, clean, no sign of bugs in a location we prefer on the Big island. Appreciated the beach chairs and boogie boards as the family loves to go to the beach. Lionel was very good about answering questions before our stay.

    The condo had lots of space and was very clean. We enjoyed the location, not far from the beaches we enjoy and a very nice gourmet grocery store. The view had a very open feel and we felt life we had plenty of privacy. The kitchen had the basics we needed. We wish we had known they had boogie boards and snorkeling equipment because we brought ours...The only negative was the too soft, lumpy king sized bed.

    The Shores Penthouse is well maintained with well equiped kitchen. The lanai is the best part of the condo with golf course view & very partial ocean view. The location in the complex is close to the pool and there were always available chairs at the pool.

    This penthouse condo has a very good layout and well equipped, certainly worth the price paid. The elevators were much appreciated. The view was fine, which included the golf course and sunsets. The property description and photos were accurate. A few minor things, which could be easily corrected include: all the bath towels were still in the dryer when we arrived and were damp (in spite of the 6 hours allowed to clean the condo; from 10 AM to 4:00 PM); numerous light bulbs were burned out (maybe to save electricity?); because the washer door was to be kept closed between washing's the water remained soured and the towels smelled, which made our bodies smell a bit (In our opinion the washer door should remain open between washing's to air out but that was not allowed or followed by the cleaners). Otherwise, our stay was without incident and, other than the minor things just mentioned, we enjoyed our stay very much.

    We have rented a number of vacation condos in the past, and this is one of the nicest ones we've stayed in. Quiet and well kept, we were never wanting for much of anything. I highly recommend.
    We did contact the owner to suggest getting a cooler for guests to use for excursions and a larger variety of tupperware or sealable containers. Not a huge issue, we've found on our previous vacations these to be invaluable.

    We loved our well appointed and well equipped Penthouse condo. A special feature is the open sundeck which is part of the huge lanai which is the biggest we have ever seen. Lanai barbecue and beach gear were much appreciated. Beds are comfy and its just a short 15 minute walk to shops, great restaurants such as Lava Lava and amenities. The Shores pool is also very nice. Waikoloa is perfectly located for Big Island adventures. We especially enjoyed star gazing at 10,000 ft on Mauna Kea or viewing the amazing glow and molten lava on Kilauea volcano at night. Both are within easy driving distance on a day trip. Nearby beaches such as Mauna Kea are magnificent. Our fav place in Hawaii!

    We absolutely loved this rental! After staying a week in a hotel with my family, it was nice to have room to spread out. The condo is very spacious and the floor plan is open. The highlight for us was the large lanai, we watched some beautiful sunsets and loved watching the golfers tee off. The kids loved having the boogie boards and snorkeling gear and we were so happy to have some beach chairs.

    We also loved the location, near plenty of restaurants, shopping, a gourmet grocery store. and an easy move from our hotel. You wouldn't even need to venture from this area if you didn't want to.

    The on-island property manager Leah was very responsive and helpful. We also found the owners to be prompt in communications and equally as helpful.

    You can't go wrong with this place, we are missing it greatly!

    Nice stay at Unit 305. Had everything we needed including towels, beach chairs and Kauai Guide. Washer and dryer in condo were a luxury. We walked 20 minutes to A-Bay. King and Queens Shops nearby. King's shop had a free hula and fire show.

    Having stayed at several rentals at Waikoloa Shores, this was by the far the best. Not only was the view spectacular, this unit contained all the amenities one could need for a most enjoyable stay.

    The shores at Waikoloa provided a very relaxing and comfortable respite having spent 3 hectic busy days at Waikiki in Honolulu. The location was quiet and relaxing although there was plenty of activities to undertake on your doorstep is you so wished. The shores at Waikoloa is a large resort with a great selection of shops, supermarkets, liquor stores, restaurants etc on site. Fully self contained - you would not have to leave the location. Although it is a large complex to car hire is essential to get around. The apartment was well furnished and had a great lanai with part in the shade and part in the sun. The electric BBQ was very effective for evening meals. Plenty of towels etc provided and the Netflix on the 65" TV very enjoyable. We did have an issue on our arrival with no water available due to a mains issue ( for the whole complex) - so no showers, toilets etc but the property owner and management in the ground kept us well informed.

    If I was being picky about the apartment some small dishes for snacks would be a useful addition.

    Finally the sea view from the balcony is now just a sliver due to the trees growing but the view over the golf course provided a great open aspect.

    The owners have spent considerable care in decorating and providing amenities for this condo. The wide lanai on two sides offers open space for night stargazing, a nook for grilling, and a large table and chairs for morning breakfasts or any meal. The washer and dryer were a needed benefit, and there was a surplus of beach gear.
    The condo is located a short walk from the King's Shops and the Hilton Waikoloa Resort. It was well located for the myriad of activities that can be planned for the Big Island. Trade wind breezes keep the
    condo cool at night, so you can turn off the A/C and open the doors.
    All doors have screens, and it was great to sleep at night being cooled by the wind. A thoroughly splendid vacation.

    Great condo. Only thing is don't expect to see ocean. You can barely see it on balcony, far off in distance.

      Agreed, Rhonda, that's why we refer to 'partial ocean views' in our listing. The ocean is not far, about 500 yards in fact, from Shores 305, but there are palm trees in abundance along the shoreline . I rather enjoy the palm trees, myself............
